Logitech G35 headset review

Post by Pielikey on Fri Aug 06, 2010 3:52 pm

Pros:
+Good sound.
The bass is great, the high pitched treble sounds good. Dolby's 7.1 surround sound thingy really works well in this headset.
+Comfortable. You can wear this thing for hours and not feel any discomfort.

Morong
=Voice changer.
It works, but why the fuck would you use it?
=Multiple headbands. All of them look the same even though Logitech claims they are different. I tried putting a different headband in and didn't really feel any change in comfort. They're a bitch to swap out, though.
=G keys work well!...a bit. as is a trademark for Logitech, their G-KEYS are featured on this headset. On the logitech keyboard lineup, the G keys are used for macros, opening programs, and other things. with this headset, all they do is specific program things. It's great, but it's only for programs like iTunes and Ventrillo. (No Teamspeak or Skype or Windows Media Player, or any games which doesn't make any fucking sense)

Bullshit
-These fucking drivers
I learned Travis was right about Logitech only being a computer peripheral company by using this headset. The sound completely cuts out and refuses to work after maybe 4 hours of the computer being on. For some reason this also slows flash to a crawl.
-Static. What the fuck, Static. Speaking of Travis, this headset would probably be useful in noise music because of the ABSURD amount of random sound it generates. Every now and again the speakers pop, buzz or static during gameplay and music listening.
-Support is shit.(bonus complaint!) I posted on the forums and had to wait around a month for a reply. The person replying was likely bullshit, because he claimed to run it on both Linux,OpenBSD, and Windows, however this headset is only supported for Windows.

I think the rage in this review is justified when you spend $119.99 on a headset that never gets fixed

told you guys not to buy logitech audio equipment.
go pick up some senns or something and tape a microphone to them.

i cbf to do any research but it sounds like this headset is usb and has a built-in sound card. considering they cost $120 the dac in them is probably worse than a $30 you can pick up from staples. the remaining $90 consists of $30 worth of radioshack bargain-drawer speakers, plastic, and metal, then $60 worth of trying to make some goddamn money.

yeah once I paid the $120 for this thing I was asking myself "okay so why didn't I just get a fucking sound card and a normal headset again?"

EDIT: I might craigslist this thing for $80 and see what kind of soundcard I can get with the money leftover

Well if you plan on buying one make sure it isn't this unless you're on, say, 32 bit XP

Why would I buy a 100 dollar headset? I can find many other things for 100 dollars that I would spend my money on besides a headset.
